Bringing Home the Word

Feed My Starving Children Collection If you still have tubes of coins to turn in for FMSC you can still do that.  Just drop off in the collection basket when you come for mass, or drop off at the parish center during the week.  Our parish check for combined donations will be sent to FMSC in a week.  Remember, we are working to fund 500,000 meals for starving children through this collection.   Every quarter feeds a child a meal for a day.

This weekend we turn the calendar to November and with that, we celebrate the feasts of All Saints (Sunday, November 1) and All Souls (Monday, November 2).   Between these two holy days we celebrate all Saints and all saints, past and present.  The feasts remind us that we are part of the great Communion of Saints – the family of God.  The feasts remind us of our true identity as God’s children, and encourage us to live as such.  We are reminded of our eternal destiny, and encouraged to strive for those things that develop us towards our greater selves and to not get stuck in those things that keep us from loving God, loving our neighbor, and loving our self.
