The Confirmation program for our parish is not meant to be like other classes students have had in Catholic school or religious ed. It is more a “formation” program, designed to get the students involved in as many different aspects of discipleship as possible. The various components are spread out over the next year to provide a variety of activities and experiences.

Note: The Bishop has set our Confirmation celebration for our 2023-2024 Confirmation class for Sunday, November 10, 2024 at 2:00 pm.  We will be partnered with Resurrection and our Mass of Confirmation will be at Resurrection Church.   Resurrection is the host parish, so they will be setting the schedule for any practice/rehearsal time.   Right now it looks like we will be doing a walk-through directly before the Mass, so plan for the afternoon.  Abbot Dane Radecki will be confirming our group.  Anticiate to be at Resurrection by 1:00/1:15pm. 

Candidates, we will meet three times before our Confirmation date.  We’ll meet at 7:45 on the following Wednesdays.  Our sessions will last about an hour.  Please get these dates on your calendar so you can keep the meeting time clear.

Wednesday, September 18        Review, Discerning Confirmation names
Wednesday, October 2              Gifts of the Spirit, Letters to the Abbot       
Wednesday, October 23            Letters and Names due; Rite of Confirmation

Sponsors, when you have finished your meetings with your candidate, please write a letter of recommendation for the young person you have been working with.  The letter is your testimony/witness on behalf of the person you helped prepare.  The letter you write is directed/addressed to me and is used by Fr. Bob and I when we recommend our group to the Bishop for the sacrament of Confirmation.  It doesn’t need to be super long, but should include a summary of what you did together and why you are recommending your candidate to the Church to receive the sacrament. Your letter can be sent to me via email or snail mail @ 130 St. Matthew Street, GB, WI  54301   I’d like your letter by September 9.  Thanks.
