Outreach is an important part of our identity as followers Jesus at St. Matthew. It’s also part of our commitment to give Five More as we live our faith. This year, as a practical witness to this, our parish will be donating the proceeds from five of our picnic booths to five outreach ministries St. Matthew is involved with. These five ministries are Hands &Hearts with Haiti, St. John’s Homeless Shelter, Love Life, Ecumenical Partnership for Housing, and Feed My Starving Children. Help us spread the word that by participating in the picnic and purchasing items at these booths, we will be helping to support these wonderful ministries our parish is involved in.
Here is the breakdown:
Beverage Booth: Ecumenical Partnership Housing
Popcorn & Bakery Booth: Love Life Ministry
Food Tent: Feed My Starving Children
Games Tent: Hands & Hearts with Haiti
Booyah: St. John’s Homeless Shelter
This is a unique way to give FIVE More as followers of Jesus. The funds raised from the raffle and other areas of the picnic will stay part of our St. Matthew budget as in year’s past.
We need volunteers (please!) to make our annual fundraiser a success. Everything from taking a shift helping out at a booth, to taking down the tents on Sunday afternoon.
Here are FIVE More ways to help out at the parish picnic:
- Bake items for the bake sale. Who doesn’t love pie? Anything with chocolate?
- Spend one or two hours selling delicious food. No one diets on picnic day.
- Live your lifelong dream of being a bartender at the beer cart.
- Sell raffle tickets for an hour (while secretly hoping you win).
- Assist with tent set-up or take down. Many hands make light work.
If you are interested, contact Margaret at the parish office, 435-6811.
Bakery Items Needed for the Bakery Booth!
We are in need of baked goods to sell in the bakery booth during the picnic. Feel free to make anything you love! Items can be dropped off the day before the picnic at the parish office, or the morning of the picnic starting at 8:30 am. We would appreciate a heads up if you are bringing an item (or two) - please call the parish office to let us know, 920-435-6811. All proceeds from the bakery booth go to Love Life Ministries.
Would you or your business like to be a picnic sponsor?
We will proudly display your name and logo as a sponsor prior to the picnic, in our weekly parish bulletin, and on other event signage used to market the picnic. All proceeds will benefit operating costs, maintenance and outreach here at St. Matthew Parish.
If you are interested or would like more information, contact Margaret at the parish office, 435-6811.
