  Come spend and evening in prayer, renewal and updating on October 10 at 6:30 pm in church. We will pray, talk, and go over a few updates and reminders for all liturgical ministries (lectors, greeters, ushers, servers and Eucharistic Ministers). Please mark your calendars and join us!! • OAKS Event for October - Baileys Harbor Bus Trip

  OAKS Program for October
  The next OAKS event will be a bus trip to Baileys Harbor on Wednesday, October 18. We will leave St. Matthew at 9:30 and return around 5:30 pm. Trip will include lunch at “Harbor Fish Market and Grill, tour “The Ridges Sanctuary, Lighthouse, etc.” and then stop for ice cream on the way home. Reservation forms included in this bulletin and are also available on the parish website http://www.stmattsgb.org and at the parish office.

• Family/Teen Service Opportunity – Saturday, October 21

  Our first Saturday service opportunity is coming up on October 21st. Generations of Faith families will be meeting at St. Pat’s Pantry downtown and helping them box and store the food donated to them through the Scout’s Food Drive. This is something everyone in the parish is invited to and folks of all ages can help with. The donated food comes to us in large crates which then have to be sorted and packed into smaller boxes, then stored away in the food pantry. It normally takes us less than a couple hours to do this. Our plan will be to meet at the pantry location at 12:45 pm. Please let me (Mike Westenberg) know if you can help us with this service project by calling the parish office 435-6811. Those who have done it in the past have found it fun and quick-moving. A great way to spend a couple hours on a Saturday.

  We will celebrate the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick (the Church’s prayer for healing) on Wednesday, October 25, during a 10:30 am Mass. Anyone seeking physical, spiritual, or emotional healing is encouraged to receive this sacrament. Those who have been anointed in the past, even for the same sickness, are welcome to receive the sacrament again. We will have four priests available for this blessing. A light lunch will be served following Mass. Please contact the Parish Office (435-6811) by October 23 if you will be joining us for anointing and for lunch.
