Craft Leaders needed for VBS

 

Do you love doing crafts projects with kids?  Are you looking for a way to get more involved at St. Matthew?  We need YOU!!   We are in need of adults  to help plan, organize and facilitate the Craft area as part of our VBS.   If you are interested, please  email or call Mike Westenberg.

 

Chew Your Food

Remember our parents and grandparents telling us/ teaching us of the importance of chewing our food before swallowing?  I thought that was an interesting metaphor for our faith practices as well. 

 

As Catholics we look at God’s Word as food for our souls – but how often do we discipline ourselves to “chew” it?  How often do we just listen to the Word at liturgy and then go on with things – never giving ourselves time to ponder, to reflect, to chew on it and let it really “digest” into our lives? 

 

Over the past year we’ve been using a resource called Bringing Home the Word at the parish.  We have it stuffed into the bulletin each weekend as a tool to help us chew on the word after we leave mass – a way for us to digest the food we receive at the liturgy.   Look for the new issue in this weeks bulletin – and remember, chew your food.
