Oops!

I (Jolene) figured Thanksgiving weekend seemed like a good time to  volunteer to bring a meal to the homeless shelter. So I signed myself up. I made lists, shopped early, and prepared food all week. At crunch time, yesterday, I had Wayne rolling and cutting out biscuits, searching for kitchen gadgets, and carrying heavy trays...without much complaint!

As we brought the food into the shelter, we were surprised to learn that someone else was already there with a meal fully ready! After the initial shock, we loaded most of the food back in the car and headed for home. I figured out that I had never sent the e-mail to volunteer.

Wayne had every right to yell at all of the wasted time, food and money spent, but instead he said, "Next time you'll have to make sure you confirm that you're on the list." No yelling, blaming, shaming, Nothing!           Thank you God for a husband who knows that my heart is in the right place and understands when mistakes happen!

(P.S. I brought the leftover food to The Golden House)
