Once every 100 years!

Today (10/10/10) is a day that only comes around every 100 years - it's next occurrence will be October 10, 2110.  It is almost impossible to imagine what the world will be like 100 years from now. Reflecting back to 1910, our grandparents were teenagers and my parents weren't even thought of for another 25 years much less me (50+ years later).

How does this relate to marriage and our lives today? 

We are all part of something bigger than ourselves. We have a family of origin and we, with our spouse, are creating a family for our next generations. We also belong to our Catholic Community which also has a deep and rich tradition that continues to evolve.

Our task as married couples is to remember who we are, live in the present, and provide wisdom for the future.
