Coffee Breaks

Wayne and I are in a book group. There are five couples in this group, and two couples are retired. We are blessed by the wisdom that comes to us from these wonderful people.

At our last gathering, Sara (a retired spouse) shared with me that she and her husband take 'coffee breaks' together, two or three times a day, just to check in with each other. I was awed and humbled (and a bit jealous) by their commitment of time they have for each other and the genuine freindship they share.

What is a coffee break?....It's a break in the routine of the day, to savor and slow down. When we 'grow up' we want to be just like Sara and Dick, taking time to slow down and savor each other's presence.
