Weddings

What is it about weddings that makes us cry? We just attended a wedding of a daughter of friends of ours. As she walked down the aisle, our tears were flowing, as were many of our friends tears. Why? She isn't even our daughter!

I think part of the reason was that I could visualize my own daughters as she walked, as well as my sons. Another reason is the remembrance of our own wedding and commitment. We were once just like them! Now, being older and wiser, we still choose the other, and would choose them all over again.

The couple seemed to radiate love. All of us attending could feel the real presence of God in this couple. This is what we want for our kids. To share life with another faith-filled human being, where God is an intregal part of their lives.

We are so thankful to have been part of such a special day! We felt blessed to be surrounded by the Spirit! And when we are filled with such gratitude, the tears of joy and thankfulness flow easily!
