I have been training for the Green Bay Half Marathon this spring. I took a 4 mile run on the East River Trail at lunch on Friday - I was a little hurried and got home to enjoy a shower and then back to work. The next day, Saturday, I ran 11 miles and went the opposite way on the trail. My pace was slower, I had planned for a 2 hour run so I was not rushed and I NOTICED (saw) that at regular intervals in the woods, there were patches of daffodils blooming.
Same path, different directions; one time I did not see, the next I did see!
Were the daffodils there on my first run? Yes, but I was "blind" to them. In fact, I might have even doubted that they were on the trail at all.
How often am I hurried running from task to task each day without even noticing my wife and our marriage.
Plan some time this week to focus and see with awe and wonder the beauty that is present in our spouses.
