Easter - He is risen!

To follow up on Jolene's post last week, I did attend a Silent Holy Week retreat (Wed PM through Sat lunch) at the Jesuit Retreat House in Oshkosh on the shores of Lake Winnebago.  We happened to have a fight prior to my leaving which was truly a "graced moment" - a gift from God.

In my time in the tomb in Oshkosh (it is really a great place, by the way), I was able to see with new eyes, God's eyes, the imbalance in our relationship (housework, kids, even writing this blog!) that had day-by-day and month-by-month crept into our relationship. I was blind and now I see as the gospel stories portray.

Being able to see with new eyes is exactly what Easter is about...we are changed radically, transformed or in the Easter metaphor, we are risen to new life.  I am challenged, now, on a daily basis to do the little things that can continue to bring balance in our relationship. I realize I won't do this perfectly but I choose to make the effort.

How can you pause in your relationship to see each other with new eyes in this Easter season?
