Grief

No Super Bowl for us this year...Packer fans all over the state are lamenting that reality today...but the saddest time this week for us was going to the wake for Coach Philbin's 21 year old son, Michael, who drowned in Lake Winnebago. Going through the grieving line and shaking the hands and hugging his brothers, father and then finally his mother was heart breaking.

Death is certainly a reality check for all of us. It quickly brings to the fore- front what is really important in life. The event even hit our children hard as we described the visible grief at the church. We reminded them that they belong to us and are gifts to us, and that they should take great care of themselves because we love them and can't imagine life without them.

We are so thankful for our family and each other, and feel blessed to be alive and healthy and safe.
